Remember how I said I recently started having an obsession with Groupon? Well, I somehow influenced Pritom, too, and now he’s a much savvier Groupon shopper than I am! Knowing my weakness for chocolates, he purchased this Groupon for Chocolate Tasting for Two at Devour Desserts.

Before I move onto the delicious details, let me just say, it’s not often that I walk into a place of business and immediately feel welcomed and at home, but Misty, the owner of this place, gave us the biggest (and most genuine) smile ever the moment we walked in. I remember saying to Pritom, “I love this place already.” Yes – just from that smile – the first of many more to come throughout our hour-long tasting there. Also, the decorations were so cute (the walls looked like they were drizzled with chocolate…hello??) and they even had lollipop props with which we could take pictures, something I obviously appreciated…hahaha! There was also this wall with all these cute mugs from which we could pick one to have our coffee…Um…cuteness overload!IMG_0689IMG_0717IMG_0622IMG_0718

We sat with a group of 4 other women, and after our first two treats, it was immediately obvious that all of us had very different tastes. BUT after our tenth treat, it was also apparent that there is literally something for everyone at this cute little place. Here’s the list of all that we had:-

  • Brownie batter truffle
  • Oreo cookie butter truffle
  • Peanut butter banana bite
  • Dark chocolate maraschino cherry
  • Peanut butter buckeye (available in dark chocolate or semi-sweet)
  • Vanilla butter cake
  • Chocolate butter cake
  • Carmelita bar
  • Lemonade cheesecake bite
  • Cheesecake-stuffed chocolate-dipped strawberry

Verdict? I LOVED the brownie batter truffle and Oreo cookie butter truffle because they were so chocolatey. Oh.Em.Gee. One other truffle that was not in the tasting list but that we bought was the dark chocolate macadamia Nutella truffle, and I can say, without a doubt, that it was my absolute favorite of all the truffles! I also surprisingly enjoyed the lemonade cheesecake bite (Pritom’s favorite, in addition to the peanut butter banana bite) even though it was served in a white chocolate cup. White chocolate is often too sweet for me, but the tartness of the lemon and the addition of the strawberry really balanced any excessive sweetness out. The cheesecake-stuffed chocolate-dipped strawberry was delicious as well. I mean, how creative!!! And the combination was just yummy! The vanilla and chocolate butter cakes were too sweet for me. HOWEVER, that being said, most super sweet things taste just that – overly sweet. But these cakes actually had a really good flavor, and if I had to pick one of the two butter cakes, I’d actually say the original vanilla tasted better. I know! What a shock that I’d pick vanilla over chocolate! I had reservations about the Carmelita bar initially because too much caramel is often too sweet for me, but this was perfect. We actually purchased one and brought it home! I can’t wait to come back again. I already told Pritom I’d love a tray of goodies from Devour Desserts in lieu of a cake for my birthday!

Look at how pretty these are! They taste even better than they look!!!

IMG_0643 IMG_0644IMG_0680 IMG_0688Now, on to what I wore…It was another off-the-shoulder day for me. One of the very few things I don’t like about the summer is that I’m often too hot to wear denim (and I love my denim), but I just couldn’t wait to wear this flowy top one of my girlfriends got me. I knew a pair of skinny jeans would look really cute with this top, so I just had to suck it up and deal with feeling hot. Oh, the sacrifices we make for fashion! If you’re looking for a comfortable pair of jeans, definitely check these out because they’re so soft!

IMG_0727   IMG_0635IMG_0744 I’m going to leave you guys with this picture of Pritom and the lollipop prop because this picture makes me smile. Pritom’s very shy, so it’s not often I can convince him to do something like this! I hope you’re enjoying your holiday weekend!
