I don’t identify with just one particular fashion style because I pretty much dress the way I feel on any given day, but I do tend to gravitate toward a certain few more than others – one of them being boho-chic. I love that effortless, relaxed look. I’m also a sucker for the embroidery found on a lot of Bohemian pieces, which I’m aware isn’t on this top, but I’m almost 100% sure you’ll see on other pieces that I own at some point in the future.
It’s no secret what a huge fan of off-the-shoulder pieces I am, so naturally, when I was packing for our London-Paris trip, I made sure to throw in at least a few! This top was one of them. It was a gift from my friend who knows my obsession with Francesca’s and had gotten it for my birthday last year. She obviously really knows my taste in clothing as well…haha! I’ve probably worn this top about 10 times now, and like most Francesca’s items I own, it’s still held up nicely.
I generally believe in paying a little more for great quality, classic pieces that I know will last through the years and I’ll wear over and over again. I have handbags and clothes I’ve had for literally a decade (or longer) and they’re still in almost-pristine condition despite having been worn dozens of times because they’re just made to last! Francesca’s, luckily, isn’t one of those brands where I have to fork out a pretty penny, or else, I’d be in trouble. Pritom dreads when I step into one of their stores because I could really spend a whole hour in there! Their items aren’t exactly made of the most durable materials/fabrics, but as you can see from my constant use of this clutch, they do wear well, and that’s so important to me. The chain on this clutch has started to tarnish, but I honestly expected it to have happened much sooner since I’ve had it for a couple of years now! Also, did I mention most of their pieces wash well? AND I don’t think I own an article of clothing from them that even requires ironing!
Flowy, long-sleeved tops like this are great for the warmer fall days that turn a little cooler at night. The lighter fabric helps when you’re out in the sun but the sleeves keep you cozy when the temperatures drop. Since this top is an oldie but goodie, I’ve linked a few other cute ones on the bottom for you! What’s your favorite transitional weather blouse?
